Classical Guitar Build Log – LUCIA

hand made kasha classical guitar

Lucia interior with Kasha influenced bracing.

Construction has begun on my Lucia model classical guitar. Lucia is a modern classical guitar, the custom bracing pattern is influenced by the Kasha/Schneider approach to brace and tone bar design and positioning.

Bringing a lively, dynamic sound, great sustain without sacrificing volume. Lucia lends superbly to solo performance, with her ability to delight both player and audience. This is the result of years of research and development.  Classical guitar build Lucia #1 is meticulously hand crafted in Pau Ferro, also called Santos Rosewood for back and sides, with a European Spruce sound board. French polished, Lucia is a fine example of a unique, modern, hand crafted classical guitar with the lightest of traditional finishes.

I can custom build Lucia in a choice of exotic hardwoods, using traditional construction techniques combined with the inspired internal design.

As I work on every stage of the guitar build myself, I get to scrutinise every step of the work, and I’m extremely fussy.

The build log. The following is a (reduced) log of the construction process. I take hundreds of photos and notes throughout every guitar build. They provide me reference during future builds and help the research, development and design process. Every build is a natural progression from the last, no matter how subtle the changes and improvements.
